Update on the Bruiser frame:
Word from the factory...they are due to ship next week!
Sorry for the delay, but in an effort to maintain a 42mm chainline with 400mm chainstays and still give you enough room for 38c+ tires we had to re-engineer the bottom bracket area and consequently pushed delivery back a bit.
We would love to show you what we've done, but since the latest heist of our drawings, we aren't so forthgiving anymore. You'll have to trust us.

I can't begin to explain how much this sort of thing grinds my gears. I was in China most of last month visiting our manufacturing facilities over there and have nothing but bad things to say about their utter disrespect for intellectual property. To know that an American company (whether it be a bike shop in LA or otherwise) is aiding in this whole process it's just....disgusting. The guys at Milwaukee probably spent countless man hours in design and engineering, manufacturing costs for prototypes, opportunity costs, marketing costs, just to have some douchebags steal it all and undercut the price. I have no issues with the fact that China exploits its tax haven status, inhumane labor wages, and utter disregard for the environment when manufacturing for their own markets, but to steal our intellectual property (whether it be engineering or design), use aforementioned exploits, and resell to our market....it's fucking disgusting. You can only blame an ignorant consumer so much, the bulk of the blame lies with those who aid in this theft of intellectual property.

Yeah!! Who cares about the environment or human rights? Making sure no one steals a bike design is whats truly important.

Sam: the point I was trying to make is that we can't go to china and say "pay your employees better, follow our eco standards". We try, they say fuck off, that's the end of that. Quite frankly, they're our primary debt lenders. For us to have any bargaining chips on that front would mean we'd have to threat economic sanctions (or war, which won't happen). If we brought all of our manufacturing back to the states, at the same time stopped borrowing from china (again not going to happen, obama doubled our country's borrowing from china) our economy and way of life would disappear. So when I say I have no issue, I mean it's a moot issue, because there's nothing we can do about it.

Sam: About "there is nothing we can do about it": On an individual level: don't buy made in China - or buy as little as possible. It is not easy, I know. I was discussing this with Oscar yesterday, a friend and shop owner here near Zurich. How do the clients choose between a bike for 690 and the other one for 1500? We all prefer the manufactured locally, think it is a great idea and are convinced it is the right thing to do. Oscar would love to sell Paul and Miche hubs, made in Italy frames and made in Switzerland bikes only. But yeah, the 690$ fixed gear, damned, what a temptation.
