The "Other" De Rosa

Ugo De Rosa's bikes are best known for their sponsorship of the early Faema team; they were the first to ride his bikes after Raphael Geminiani requested one for the Giro in 1958. Later Motta and Merckx also approached Ugo to build their frames. Soon the De Rosa name was laid out in cycling history. Many moons later, De Rosa remains one of the most highly sought-after bicycles. The De Rosa heart and arc-en-ciel diamond stripes are an icon today.

While this was happening in Milan, another De Rosa had already been crafted in Pozzuoli, Naples. Preceding Ugo De Rosa by almost 20 years, Raffaele De Rosa's bikes frequently pop up in vintage cycling circles. This pursuit is one example and the Italian Cycling Journal has others on their recent post.

When you visit their website a large disclaimer pops up:

"ATTENZIONE !!! I CONTENUTI DI QUESTO SITO SONO COMPLETAMENTE DIVERSI ED ESTRANEI DA QUELLI DELLA DITTA DE ROSA UGO & FIGLI DI MILANO"

Translating to:

Attention! The contents of this site are completely diverse from the firm of Ugo De Rosa & Sons of Milano".

Great little tidbit of information. Thanks to Italian Cycling Journal and Harry for the information.
