Earlier today, I met up with Eirlie on her ride to work to photograph her Clamont track bike. When I finished, I shot some photos of this brakeless Beautiful Bicycle leaned against the cade table while Eirlie finished her brekkie. This frame has some unique details that I didn't notice at first the other day and shooting it in the rain produced some quality photos.

Today I spent some time with my Canon in Deus Ex Machina, a local bicycle and lifestyle shop here in Sydney. I've been there multiple times, getting a feel for it and today I poked through some of their stock and see what they had to offer. As per the norm, I shot way too many photos, so here's a real gem from their rafters to hold you over. They had quite the stock of NJS track bikes but this Kalavinka, in its subtle beauty, won me over.
The drive-side decals were killer.

Yesterday I got stir-crazy. It's been raining since Tuesday here in Sydney and I couldn't stand to not be riding in this gorgeous city. I met up with some locals on their Tuesday hill ride and had fun, but wasn't feeling 100% so I went back and tried to find the same route by myself. I have a Garmin, but the maps aren't loaded for Australia (how do you do that by the way?), so it was like riding blind, which sometimes is fun.
The pouring rain, aggressive drives and my bald rear tire mandated the pace for this ride, which was perfect because I'm still in sight-seeing mode here. Ranking in at exactly 20 miles and 1,000' of climbing, this was by no means a hard workout but riding's not always about hammering.
Oh, did I mention already how Sydney has some of the raddest vintage autos I've seen?

Henry's a bit of a Cougar fanboy. He's got a low-pro and a road bike. Rumor has it, he even has an imposter Cougar BMX, just for shits and giggles. Last night, I met up with him for a drink and it turned into many. While his Cougar work bike was locked up outside the local digs, I took some photos of it. Cougar was made by Dolan, many years ago. It's not every day that you see such a rare bike, laced with Suntour, locked up in the rain.

I met Brendan when I posted on the local forums that I wanted to shoot some Beautiful Bicycles. He emailed me with some cell phone shots of his purple Dodici Special track bike. After seeing the photos, I thought to myself, man, now THAT'S a purple bike. Kinda fitting for the site huh?
